New Delhi, November 29: The air quality in Delhi continues to deteriorate, the AQI in Lodhi Road Area is poor at 272. After Dusherra, the air quality has been oscillating between poor and very poor. According to the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology, a haze has engulfed Delhi and the wind speed and ventilation index are "extremely unfavourable" for dispersion of pollutants. Ventilation index determines how fast the pollutants can get dispersed. On Tuesday, eight areas in the national Capital recorded severe pollution levels.
AQI in the range of 0-50 is considered good while the range beyond 500 is considered to be hazardous. The range between 51 to 100 is marked as satisfactory while 101-200 range is seen as moderate. The range of 201-300 comes under the category of poor whereas 401-500 range is considered as severe.
