New Delhi, June 19: Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will meet the family of martyred jawan Aurangazeb on Wednesday in his village Mendhar in Poonch district. Aurangzeb, a rifleman of 44 Rashtriya Rifles, was abducted from Shopian district by terrorists on June 15 and was killed. He was abducted while he was on his way back home for Eid.

On Monday, Indian Army chief General Bipin Rawat also visited the bereaved family members. "He spent 45 minutes with the bereaved family, consoling them and lauding the exemplary courage and bravery of the martyred soldier who faced death in the true tradition of a brave soldier," a Defence Ministry statement said.

Meanwhile, during his visit, he also ensured the family that Army will bring justice to the family and nab the killers soon.

Army sources say that he was killed by the Hizbul Mujahideen militants. Terrorists had released a picture as well as video of Aurangzeb that was shot just before he was killed by them.
