Dawood Ibrahim’s Bhendi Bazaar Property to Be Auctioned Off on August 9 by the Ministry of Finance
The bidders have to deposit Rs 25 lakh three days before the auction date to participate. Interested ones can apply through e-auction, public auction, and sealed tenders.
Mumbai, July 18: One or more of gangster Dawood Ibrahim's properties in Mumbai's Bhendi Bazar is set for auction on August 9, 2018, according to a news report in DNA. The auction will be held by the Ministry of Finance under the Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators (Forfeiture of Property) Act (SAFEMA). A notice for same has been issued at the said property, a procedure usually followed by the officials before carrying out the auction.
Interested bidders have been invited to participate in the auction. The report further mentions that around nine properties located at Mumbai, Valsad, Aurangabad, Valsad, Daman, Surat and Ahmedabad have been chosen to be auctioned off. Out of this, the property at Mumbai's Pakmodia Street, Bendi Bazar is claimed to be that of Dawood's.
Mumbai's Bhendi Bazaar has an old connection with the don as he had spent his childhood days there before his entry into miscreant and criminal activities. While the officers have not confirmed the auction of Dawood's property, sources have confirmed the same to the DNA reporter.
Apart from this, the bidders have to deposit Rs 25 lakh to participate in the auction by August 6, three days before the auction date. People interested can apply through e-auction, public auction, and sealed tenders.
