Cyclonic Storm LUBAN Over Arabian Sea; Heavy Rain Warning in West Bengal, Assam And Other Northeastern States

Odisha, October 12: The deep depression over Odisha moved east-northeastwards in past six hours with a speed of 8 kmph, and lay centred over Odisha near latitude 20.4°N and longitude 84.6°E, 30 km north-east of Phulbani and 70 km southwest of Angul. Rainfall is expected at most places with heavy to very heavy falls at isolated places over north Odisha. As per the release, there will be no rainfall tomorrow. It is very likely to move northeastwards towards Gangetic West Bengal and weaken into a depression during next 12 hours, according to a release shared by PIB.  Cyclone Titli to Weaken Gradually with Time: IMD.  

The fishermen are advised not to venture into west-central Arabian Sea & Gulf of Aden till October 14. According to reports, Luban has moved to South Oman and Yemen Coasts during the next five days and spare Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry of heavy rains.
