Cyclone Titli Claims 8 Lives in Andhra Pradesh, Bus Services Suspended as Uprooted Trees Block Roads

Andhra Pradesh, October 11: Cyclone Titli has claimed eight people in Srikakulam and Vijayanagaram districts. According to an ANI report, power supply and communication system are affected in both the districts. Coastal villages are cut off from the mainland as the roads are damaged. Odisha's Gopalpur reported 102 km per hour and Andhra Pradesh's Kalingapatnam reported 56 km per hour surface wind speed. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is monitoring the weather situation in the state. Andhra Pradesh State Transport Corporation has suspended its bus services as uprooted trees blocked roads at several places. Flights and train services between Andhra and Odisha have also been affected because of Cyclone Titli. IndiGo Airline has cancelled five flights to and from Bhubaneswar. The airline was instructed not to ground the carrier at Bhubaneswar Airport as it will be difficult for the budget carrier to fly back to any of the destinations.

In view of Titli, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) has suspended train services from Khurda Road in Odisha to Vizianagaram in Andhra Pradesh in both directions after Wednesday 10 pm. According to sources, depending on the situation, some more trains may be further cancelled.
