New Delhi, July 12: Smriti Irani, Union Minister for Women & Child Development today said in Lok Sabha that according to Census 2011, the Child Sex Ratio (CSR) in comparison of census 2001 has declined in 21 States/UTs. Child Sex Ratio at Birth Rises to 948 Girls per 1000 Boys in Rajasthan.

The Minister also pointed out that as per the latest reports of Health Management Information System of Ministry of Health & Family welfare, they reveal that the sex ratio at birth (SRB) shows improving trends and SRB has increased from 923 to 931 at national level between 2015-16 & 2018-19.

According to a statement released by the Rajasthan Health department released last month,  the child sex ratio at birth has increased to 948 girls per 1,000 boys. The child sex ratio at the time of birth was 929 girls for 1,000 boys in 2015-16 and rose to 938 in 2016-17 and 944 in 2017-18.

While Haryana has improved its sex ratio at birth (SRB) ranking, karnal district has shown a steep decline in the figures.
