Chandigarh, June 15: Owing to the dust storm, flight operations at Chandigarh Airport has been cancelled. According to a recent update on ANI, a total of 26 flights have been cancelled so far at Chandigarh airport due to poor visibility. The cancelled flights include 7 flights of IndiGo, 8 Jet Airways flights, 1 Vistara flight, 1 AirAsia flight, 1 SpiceJet flight, 3 GoAir flights and 5 Air India flights.

Earlier in the day, there were reports of 11 flights arriving and departing from Chandigarh Airport being cancelled due to low visibility. The list included all IndiGo domestic flights, and five more flights arriving/departing at/from Chandigarh.

On Thursday, more than 33 flights, including three international flights were cancelled. The dust storm in Rajasthan has caused deterioration in the air quality, and rise in high levels of PM 10. According to S.Paul, Director, India Meteorological Department Chandigarh said, "Thick blanket of dust is there. As of now, it seems that there'll be some respite from these conditions in next 48-72 hours. Monsoon is still in weak phase; however, there are chances of its revival by the end of the month."

There is no need for the passengers to panic because most of the airlines are giving refunds or arranging alternatives for the cancelled flights. Please check with your respective airlines regarding the status of your flight to avoid unnecessary hassle.
