Mumbai, September 7: Mumbai's Central Railway has recently come to the rescue of a man who left his wife's gift in the Mumbai local. According to a Mumbai Mirror report, a stand-up comedian boarded a Kalyan local from Vidyavihar and got off at Thakurli, leaving the gift in the coach. He immediately tweeted to Central Railway asking for help, giving details of his coach and the description of the gift packet which he left inside the train. He tweeted saying, " "I boarded 8:01 Kalyan local from Vidyavihar and got down at Thakurli around 8:58. I left my paper bag with 'Saloni' written on it. I was on the fourth coach towards Kalyan. The bag has a precious gift for my wife. I am at Thakurli station. @Central_Railway how to retrieve it?"

Immediately RPF sprung into action and assisted him. After receiving the bag, he tweeted saying, " Central Railway and wrote, "Hey teams, I got my bag. The same train returned. Thanks a lot for your assistance to a citizen. Thanks a billion." In response to which, the Central Railway tweeted saying, "Pleasure... Happy to see you happy." They also advised people to dial 182 to seek any assistance from the RPF."

Thousands of people use local train services to travel from one place to another in Mumbai. These crowded local trains have turned into a nightmare for many, and claim several lives in a year. According to the data released by the Government Railway Police (GRP), over 400 people have died due to falling off from crowded local trains so far in 2018.
