CBSE Class 12 Exam 2019: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has introduced changes in the examination pattern of class 12 English board exam 2019. CBSE acted upon the feedback received from various stakeholders, schools, parents, students and amongst others, the board decided to revise the paper pattern. According to the notification released by CBSE, now Section A would comprise 19 questions, and Section B questions have been reduced from 40 to 35. The CBSE class 12th candidates and their concerned parents and teachers can read the official notification published by the board on its official website; cbse.nic.in.
The circular on the website reads, “Consequent upon the feedback received from the various stakeholders and subsequent deliberation in the meetings of Committee of Courses of the Board and the subject experts the following changes have been made in Section-A-Reading of the Question Paper for English core, Class-XII for the session 2018-19.” The length of passages in Section A (Reading) has been reduced to two instead of three passages earlier. Besides, the typology of questions has also been changed. The students will have to appear in 5 multiple choice-based questions (MCQ), 9 very short answer type questions, 3 short answer type questions from passage one and 2 long answer type questions from passage two. CBSE has also made the revised marking scheme and sample question paper available for the candidates. Meanwhile, the board has also opened the registration window for regular class 9 and 11 students for the academic session 2018-19. Before proceeding for the online registration, the affiliated schools will have to register themselves first.
