Captain Amol Yadav, India’s first individual aircraft maker, speaking exclusively to LatestLY advised youngsters to believe in their dreams and do all it takes to make them come true. He has also confirmed to LatestLY that the first indigenous aircraft manufactured in India will surely fly from the year 2019. Captain Amol is in news after the Maharashtra government signed a Memorandum of Understanding ( MoU) with his company Thrust Aircraft Private Limited to set up an indigenous factory for manufacturing 20-seater aircraft in Palghar in a Rs 35,000 crore project.
The MoU, between Amol Yadav and MIDC, will lead to generation of around 10,000 jobs in the project, which will be spread over 157 acre land in Palghar district.
The story of Captain Amol is that of grit, determination and patience. Speaking to LateslLY (on phone) he revealed how he had developed two airlines by the year 2003 itself, but they couldn’t be launched due to regulation issues. Captain Amol then went on to explain how he started work on his aircraft in the year 2009 which went on to create great buzz and brought him to prominence. Captain Amol had displayed his aircraft at the 2016 ‘Make In India’ conclave in front of dignitaries like Civil Aviation Minister P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devandra Fadnavis.
Captain Amol also said that Chief Minister Devandra Fadnavis has assured him of all help from MIDC. He believes that his responsibility is to build planes and get the factory on track to produce many other aircrafts. He said that Palghar has been identified as the spot because it can be like an aerospace hub to make planes in India.
"The government expects Rs 35,000 crore investment for not my company alone, but also for the ancillaries which will be a part of the hub," he said. He also confirmed that work on planes will begin in the next six months.
Captain Amol Yadav, a senior commander with Jet Airways has promoted Thrust Aircraft Private Limited company for manufacturing aircrafts in India.
Captain Amol recalls the moment when his aircraft became the center of attraction in the ‘Make In India’ event in Mumbai. He said that he had assembled and finished the aircraft on the terrace of a Charkop building and got the certificate of registration from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in November 2017.
Captain Amol and his team was also invited to the Rashtrapati Bhavan by The President of India Ramnath Kovind. In his parting message to LatestLY, Captain Amol said that “Everybody, especially the youngsters, must believe in their dreams and plan to make their dreams come true. People say that my company will build the first indigenous planes but it is not my company, it is our company, every Indian’s company." Indeed, his dream coming true is every Indians' dream come true.
