Bengaluru, May 4: Bharatiya Janata Party MLA from Jayanagar, B. N. Vijay Kumar, passed away in the early hours on Friday due to cardiac arrest. He was 60. According to an ANI report, Kumar was a two time MLA from the constituency and BJP candidate from the same for upcoming Karnataka Election 2018. In fact, he collapsed during his election campaign on Thursday evening.
He was then immediately rushed to the Jayadeva Institute of Cardiology where he died at 1 a.m. on the following day.

According to an Indian Express report, Kumar was at a voter's residence when he had a massive heart attack. He also had a long-standing issue of high blood pressure and was also recently operated. He was advised rest, but Kumar was out for campaigning as there was very little time before the elections.
On Thursday, an emergency angioplasty was performed to place a stent to ensure his heart pumped normally for proper blood flow. However, it was not successful because Kumar passed away on Friday morning. As per reports, his last rites are expected to take place today evening.
