BJP Leader Vyas Deo Prasad's Son & Friends Arrested for Possessing Alcohol in Liquor Banned Bihar-UP Border
According to a recent development, the father of the accused has also come out in the open to support his son.
Bihar, July 2: Earlier in the day, Police arrested BJP leader Vyas Deo Prasad's son and his four friends this morning. According to an ANI report, the men were found possessing alcohol at Bihar-Uttar Pradesh border, and alcohol was recovered from their car. There is reportedly a complete liquor ban in the state. Bihar has a very stringent policy on prohibiting liquor in the state, and Chattisgarh too wants to implement the same.
According to a PTI report, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar last month asserted that the liquor ban would remain in force and he would want all kinds of intoxicants to be banned in the state, though his government was planning to amend the excise law in view of complaints about misuse of its stringent provisions. According to CM Kumar, the prohibition was part of a broader social reform which would include banning the consumption of all forms of intoxicants including khaini, an unprocessed form of tobacco, which is immensely popular with specific section of the masses. However, the government has also promised to look into the fact, that there will be several whose livelihood will get affected because of the drastic steps.
A similar incident of taking advantage of the power and not following rules was seen in Rajasthan, where BJP MLA Dhan Singh Rawat's son's video surfaced online where he was seen thrashing a driver for not allowing him to pass through. According to a recent development, the father of the accused has also come out in the open to support his son.
