BJP Got Rs 900 Crore Donations in 2016-18, Congress Received Just Rs 55 Crore

In the 2016-18 time frame, BJP got over 900 crore as donations and Congress party received just Rs 55 crore.

New Delhi, July 10: A report released by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) has revealed that BJP has got over Rs 900 crore donations in the period between 2016 and 2018 from more than 1,500 corporate houses. This amount is 16 times more than what Congress received in the same period. Congress is lagging far behind in the race with just Rs 55 crore. Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has received donations worth Rs 7.737 crore from 23 corporate donors in the same financial year. The report mentioned that CPI had the lowest share of corporate donations at 2 just percent.

The parties considered in the report by ADR were- BJP, Congress, TMC, NCP, CPI and CPI (M). BSP was not considered because the party declared that the party didn't receive any voluntary contribution above Rs 20,000 in the period being discussed.
