Bikers' Group 'Exposes' Maharashtra Police Personnel on Mumbai-Goa Expressway Taking Bribe: Watch Video
The incident sheds light on the incidents of graft involving traffic police personnel.
Mumbai, April 23: Bikers' group 'Born To Ride' released a video on social media in a bid to "expose" the police personnel posted on Mumbai-Goa Express Highway near Talegaon post, who allegedly took bribe.
The group member Lakshya, who captured the crime on camera, said he along with his fellow bikers had violated the rules by entering the Expressway without knowing that two-wheelers are barred from plying on the road.
"Since we were following the Google Maps, we unknowingly entered the Expressway where two-wheelers are not allowed. When police stopped us for violating the rules, we apologised and agreed to pay the fine as per the challan," Lakshya said.
"However, we noticed a local, who was also stopped by the police for entering the Expressway, got away after paying a bribe," he added.
The 'local', claims Lakshya, was neither wearing the helmet nor possessing all vehicle papers. "On the other hand, we were fined with challan despite having all the required papers.
Lakshya further shares the video footage where the policemen, after being shown the clip of taking bribe, apologised to the bikers' group.
