Bihar: 7 Killed, 25 Injured After Bus Turns Turtle in Patna

Patna, Feb 19: At least seven were killed and 25 injured after a bus turned turtle here in the state capital. The injured victims have been rushed to nearby medical facilities.

The accident was reported by news agency ANI late on Monday evening. The ill-fated bus was reportedly ferrying people to a wedding when it rolled over in Patna's Kandap village.

Ambulances, along with a police team rushed to the spot after the accident was reported by locals.

The previous major bus accident in Bihar was reported in July last year, when ten fatalities were recorded, apart from injuries to six people. The accident had occurred in Bihar's Vaishali district after a bus collided with an autorickshaw at NH77 near Purana Bazar. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had then announced an ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh to the immediate kin of those who were killed.
