Raipur, November 8: In a shocking incident, a Youth Congress leader Rahul Dani's tongue and lips were hacked off in Bhilai after he addressed a party gathering. According to a Times of India report, he was unconscious for over five days, and he gained consciousness on Monday, after which he filed a police complaint. In the complaint, he mentioned that the assailants attacked him on October 31, while he was returning from a rally at Dhamda. They chopped off his tongue and ferociously attacked his face. They left him bleeding on the road, villagers saw him, and shifted him to a hospital.

According to the police quoted in the report, there are contradictions in Rahul's statement. Earlier he said that the injuries are due to an accident, but later he changed it and blamed it on the political rivalry.
