Basant Panchami 2018: PM Modi, President Ram Nath Kovind Extend Greetings to The Nation

New Delhi, Jan 22: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Ram Nath Kovind on Monday extended Basant Panchami greetings to the nation.

"Greetings to all fellow citizens on Basant Panchami and on the occasion of Saraswati Puja. May this festival, which celebrates learning, spur us to expand the frontiers of education and knowledge in our families, our society and our country," stated the tweet posted from official twitter handle of the President of India.

PM Modi also wished the nation a prosperous year ahead, stating that Saraswati Puja would help the nation to excel in various realms.

"Greetings on Basant Panchami. I pray that this auspicious occasion makes our society happier and even more harmonious. May the blessings of Maa Saraswati always remain with us and bestow us with wisdom," the Prime Minister posted on twitter.

Practices associated with the day include Saraswati Puja, kite-flying, wearing yellow dresses and singing traditional songs. It is one of the most observed festivals among the followers of Hinduism.
