New Delhi, July 19: Supreme Court today in its order said that the verdict in the Babri Masjid demolition case, involving Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders, L K Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi and others must be delivered within nine months from today. The Apex Court has further ordered that the recording of evidence in the Babri Masjid demolition case should be completed within six months.  Ayodhya Land Dispute Case: Supreme Court To Carry Out Day-to-Day Hearing in Ram Janmbhoomi-Babri Masjid Case From August 2.

CBI judge, S K Yadav who is retiring on September 30, 2019, is hearing the case. According to reports, he had earlier written to the Supreme Court stating he would take more time to complete the trial in the Babri Masjid case involving the BJP leaders.

In 2017, the apex court had held that senior BJP leaders L K Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi and Uma Bharti would be prosecuted on serious charges of criminal conspiracy in the 1992 politically sensitive Babri Masjid demolition case and will be heard every day. The Apex court had then said that process would be completed within two years by April 19, 2019.

We request the mediation committee to inform the outcome of the proceedings as of July 31st." The Supreme Court last week asked the mediation panel to settle the Ram Mandir-Babri Masjid dispute and to submit a detailed report by July 25.

The Supreme Court had further stated that if the mediation process doesn't work out, the case will then be heard on a day to day basis from July 25.
