The Supreme Court last week asked the mediation panel to settle the Ram Mandir-Babri Masjid dispute and to submit a detailed report by July 25. The Apex court has further stated that if the mediation process doesn't work out, the case will then be heard on a day to day basis from July 25.

The dispute over the land in Ayodhya has been going on for several decades, now, with both Hindu and Muslim groups claiming their right to it.  In 2010, the Allahabad High Court ordered the land to be divided into three equal parts between the Nirmohi Akhara, the Sunni Wakf Board and the representative for the deity Ram.
