Assam: Woman Alleges Rape by AIUDF MLA Nizam Uddin Choudhury, Legislator Terms Allegation as False
In the FIR, the woman said Choudhury raped her twice at her house and once at the circuit house in Hailakandi in May.
Guwahati, July 7: A married woman alleged that she was raped by All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) MLA Nizam Uddin Choudhury thrice. In her complaint, the woman also alleged that her husband Sajan Laskar had facilitated the rape. AIUDF MLA Nizam Uddin Choudhury represents the Algapur Assembly constituency.
In the FIR, the woman said Choudhury raped her twice at her house and once at the circuit house in Hailakandi in May. She alleged that her husband had taken her to the circuit house. "I was raped by Nizam Choudhury and my husband is involved in it. I demand justice or I'll commit suicide. The MLA has offered me Rs 5 lakh to withdraw the case," the victim told ANI.
The accused legislator, however, rubbished the charges terming them as a 'political conspiracy' against him. "The allegations are absolutely false. I have trust on the law and order of our country. This is a political conspiracy to defame me," Choudhury said. He said the woman's husband had spent a few days at his house because she used to fight with him.
"Will a sensible man give his wife to sleep with another man? And how can I commit rape on her at her house when she has three-four brothers among other family members? I cannot do at the circuit house either because I am always accompanied by my PSOs (personal security officers)" Choudhury told a portal.
