Srinagar, July 6: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has registered a case sedition case against Asiya Andrabi, chief of the women's separatist group Dukhtaran-e-Milat in Jammu and Kashmir, and two of her aides. Asiya Andrabi is charged with waging war against India.
Asiya Andrabi was being brought to Delhi from Jammu and Kashmir. She will be produced before the Patiala House Court later today. The NIA filed an FIR against Andrabi on April 26 for allegedly advocating secession of Jammu and Kashmir from the Union of India and calling for Jihad and use of violence against the country.
In March, an FIR was registered against activists of Andrabi's outfit for celebrating 'Pakistan Day'. The video of the event had gone viral. Addressing the function, Asiya Andrabi, the chief of the outfit, reportedly said that all Muslims of the sub-continent were Pakistanis on the basis of Islam, faith and the love of the Prophet. The activists also sang Pakistan's national anthem.
Andrabi, wife of jailed separatist leader Dr Qasim Faktoo, was named in a earlier NIA case in which Lashkar-e-Taiba chief Hafiz Saeed and Hizbul Mujahideen supremo Syed Salahuddin were chargesheeted.
