Andhra Pradesh National Highways Blockade: To Put Pressure on Government For Special Category Status
YSR Congress, Congress, Jana Sena, Lok Satta and Aam Aadmi Party are also extending their support to the roads blockade
The Left parties including CPM and CPI have called for a total blockade of the National Highways passing through the State of Andhra Pradesh today from 10AM to 2PM to put pressure on the BJP-led NDA government. Reportedly, they have alleged that the BJP was intentionally avoiding the no-confidence motion in Parliament.
It is believed that the implementation of AP Reorganisation Act and Special Category Status were rights of Andhra Pradesh and therefore, they have asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to prove his sincerity by allowing the no-confidence motion in Parliament. As per reports, the city secretaries of two parties D Kasinath and D Shankar have asked the people to extend support for their protest.
YSR Congress, Congress, Jana Sena, Lok Satta and Aam Aadmi Party are also extending their support to the roads blockade. The ruling TDP has also asked all government employees to wear black badges today as a sign of protest. According to reports, TDP has been pushing the no-confidence motion in Parliament for the last few days but proceedings had been abruptly adjourned due to ruckus caused in the House every time the no trust vote was raised.
