Ambareesh's Funeral Today: Bengaluru Traffic Police Issues Advisory on Roads to Avoid

The former minister was reported to be suffering from a kidney ailment, and was also being treated for a lung infection.

Bengaluru, November 26: The last rites of politician and Kannada actor Ambareesh will be performed today near Dr Rajkumar Smaraka at Kanteerava Studio, Bengaluru, with state honours. The public will be allowed to pay tribute to him at Kanteerava Stadium. The state government has declared an official mourning of three days. The Bengaluru city traffic police have asked people to avoid roads on which the actor-politician will be taken in procession from Kateerava Stadium to Kanteerava Studio.  Ambareesh Dies at 66: Former Congress Leader and Kannada Actor Breathes his last at Bengaluru Hospital.

The procession route is Hudson Circle-Ulsoor Gate Police Station- KG Road-Mysore Bank Circle- CID Junction and will cross through places like BHEL, Yeshwantpur Flyover-CMTI-FTI-Kanteerava Studio. Alternative routes have been arranged. Soon after the demise, some fans wanted the final rites to be conducted in the late leader's hometown in Mandya, while his family wanted the funeral to be held in Bengaluru.

Ambareesh was 66 years of age. He was admitted to Vikram hospital in Bengaluru. His condition was said to be critical. The former minister was reported to be suffering from a kidney ailment. Ambareesh was also being treated for a lung infection. The Kannada actor had opted out of the Assembly elections which were conducted in May this year after being given a Congress ticket from Mandya constituency.
