Alwar Lynching: Rakbar Khan Died of Shock Caused by Injuries And Bleeding, Finds Post-mortem Report

Alwar, July 24: Rakbar Khan, who was lynched by a mob in Rajasthan’s Alwar on Friday, died of shock caused by injuries and bleeding, find the post-mortem report of the deceased on Tuesday. The autopsy report revealed that Khan's body had 13 injuries and there was a fracture in his wrist and left femur. One of Rakbar’s ribs were also broken. The post-mortem report concluded that Khan died of shock cause by injuries and excessive internal bleeding.

Rakbar Khan alias Akbar, 28, was beaten to death by a mob on suspicion of being a cow smuggler. “While Aslam (his associate) managed to escape, unknown locals beat him (Akbar) up with sticks which led to serious injuries on his arms, legs and all over his body. He then collapsed and we took him in our police jeep to Ramgarh CHC where doctors declared him dead,” the FIR states.

On Monday, Special Director General N R K Reddy said police reached the location of the incident on time but failed to gauge the extent of injuries sustained by the victim. He also added that police first took the cows to a "gaushala" (cow shelter) and then took the victim to hospital where he was declared brought dead. An Assistant Sub-Inspector was suspended for the undue delay and action taken against four constables.

Rakbar's killing is the third such incident in Alwar since April last year when dairy farmer Pehlu Khan was beaten to death by a mob. Another man, Umar Mohammed was also allegedly killed by vigilantes when he was transporting cows to his home in Pahari tehsil of the district in November 2017. The incidents come days after the central and state governments came under a sharp criticism from the Supreme Court over frequent lynching incidents.
