Allahabad, Aug 21: In a shocking incident, bodies of five members of a family were found at a house in Allahabad's Dhumanganj area late on Monday, reported news agency ANI. One of the bodies was found hanging, while one was recovered from a fridge. Two bodies were found in a suitcase and almirah. Another body was found inside a room.
Allahabad SSP Nitin Tiwari said, "Prima facie, it seems that the man killed his wife and three daughters, and later committed suicide. An investigation is underway." The man's body was found hanging, while his wife's body was recovered from the fridge. Bodies of two of his daughters were retrieved from suitcase and almirah.
One of his daughters was found dead inside a room. The reason behind the alleged suicides was not immediately known. It is also not clear whether the family was facing a financial crisis. The police have begun the investigation in the case.
Ten of the 11 members of the Bhatia family were found hanging from an iron-mesh in the ceiling in Burari on July 1, while the body of 77-year-old Narayan Devi was lying on the floor in another room of the house. The family was not expecting to die and thought that "the earth will shake" and "there will be thunder in the sky", following which they will be saved.
