A new case of sexual harassment faced by an Air India hostess has come up. The victim has written a letter, marking a copy to Suresh Prabhu, Civil Aviation Minister and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. These letters have also been shared from her own personal Twitter account. The letter is titled as- Request for justice, sexual harassment and discrimination at the workplace by Air India senior executive.
In the letter, without revealing the name of the culprit, she has explicitly mentioned that she is an air hostess, and a single mother working for Air India at a senior position. This 'predator' has 'sexually propositioned', 'abused', and also used abusive language. He would also force other women in his team, including her to drink with him. On refusing to accept any of his advances, he started denying her several positions which she deserved at her workplace.

She has also mentioned in the letter that the women's committee of Air India has been trying to cover up the case. In spite of repeated complaints, no action has been taken till now. She has personally requested to meet Suresh Prabhu so that she can explain the situation in details and the grim situation in her department.
According to an ANI report, she said, "Concerned ministers assured me of redressal. My lawyers advised me not to say more as matter is sub-judice since we'll be filing case. If Vishaka guidelines aren't enough to eradicate bias, we must revisit."

Last year, a similar case took place, where an Air India cabin crew lodged a complaint against the pilot. The victim alleged that pilot had asked for sexual favours and verbally abused her.
