Air India Pilot Arrested For Allegedly Sexually Harassing Air Hostess Mid-Air
In March this year, a 62-year-old Pune resident was arrested for allegedly harassing a Vistara air hostess.
Update: According to recent reports, the accused pilot has been arrested.
Sexual harassment inside airplanes are not uncommon these days, owing to the increase of such incidents being reported. An air hostess of Air India has alleged that she was molested by the pilot of the Ahmedabad-Mumbai flight, and the incident took place on May 4. According to an ANI report, a scuffle broke out between the complainant and the pilot on-board. The woman then approached the Sahar police station in Mumbai and lodged a case. Following her complaint, police have registered a case against the pilot under Section 354 of the IPC.
Air India has issued a statement on the above issue, "Since the matter is under investigation, we cannot make any comment. We will extend all co-operation to facilitate the process of investigation, " as reported by ANI.
In March this year, a 62-year-old Pune resident was arrested for allegedly harassing a Vistara air hostess. Last year, Dangal actress Zaira Wasim also alleged faced sexual harassment on a Vistara flight from Delhi to Mumbai by a co-passenger.
