Abu Salem Moves Bombay High Court For 45-Day Parole to Get Married
Salem is currently serving a life sentence after being convicted for his involvement in the 1993 Bombay Blast.
Mumbai, August 7: Bombay High Court will today hear the matter of parole application filed by 1993 serial blasts convict Abu Salem, where he has sought a 45-day parole to get married to Mumbra resident Kausar Bahar. His parole application was rejected twice earlier. According to a Times of India report, Salem had earlier claimed to have married Kausar over the phone during a train journey in 2014, when he was taken to Lucknow for a court hearing. Kausar filed an application before the local court threatened to kill herself if she was not granted permission to marry Salem.
Recently, Abu Salem had sent a legal notice to makers of 'Sanju' movie. He had alleged defamation to filmmakers Raju Hirani, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, and others involved in the film. The notice further states that there are several wrong information about him in the movie, and it needs to be deleted within 15 days, failing which, he will file a defamation case against them. Salem also wants an apology from the filmmakers because his reputation has been tarnished.
