Here's why, according to a report in Jagran, Aadhaar card is mandatory for the completion of your final rites at Harishchandra and Manikarnika ghat in Kashi.
According to other reports, to avail the motorboat hearse facility, Aadhaar card is required, or any identity proof of the deceased has become compulsory. Now the final rites can't be done completed secretly. E.g. in case of murder, dowry deaths or deaths under any circumstances, the body can't be quietly disposed.
