New Delhi, Aug 2: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) will launch a new service from April 1, 2019, to update the address in Aadhaar card. The new facility will help Aadhaar cardholders who do not have valid proof of residence of the current location. They will receive a secret PIN through Aadhaar letter, which can be opted from the UIDAI website - uidai.gov.in.
"Residents who are not having acceptable proof of Address may submit their request for address verification through Aadhaar letter having a secret PIN. Once the resident receives the letter, he/she can use the secret PIN to update his/her address in Aadhaar on the SSUP online portal," the UIDAI said in a notification on Tuesday.
