Mumbai, May 1: A 60-year-old thief raped and murdered his 20-year-old partner in crime for not sharing a stolen smartphone. The gruesome incident was reported from Mumbai's Azad Maidan region.

The victim, Vikram Rakma Ninama, hailing from Rajasthan, was bludgeoned to death by his co-thief Ramswami Muttuswami Konar alias Vijay Taklya, while the former was asleep at a pavement near the Anandibai Poddar Chowk.

The murder was first alerted to the Mumbai Police on the morning of April 28. At the crime spot, police constable Gopalsingh Narsingh Rajput found the 20-year-old's head crushed with a paver block. The victim's pants were also pulled down below his knees.

The autopsy report revealed that the victim was raped by the murderer twice, after getting killed.

The CCTV footage revealed that Taklya came with a paver block and smashed it on the head of Ninama multiple times in the morning at 5:25 am. Subsequently, he pulled down the victim's pants and raped him. The accused then left the scene of crime, only to return within few minutes and raped him again.

An inquiry conducted by the Azad Maidan police station revealed that Taklya was irked by Nimama for not sharing the smartphone which they had stole from a security guard earlier in the month.

A Holiday court in Mumbai sent Taklya to police remand till May 4. He has been booked under IPC Sections 302 (murder) and 377 (unnatural sex).
