Mughalsarai, Jun 28: 10 jawans of Border Security Force (BSF) disappeared mysteriously on Wednesday when they were travelling to Jammu from West Bengal. According to police, the 10 BSF soldiers went missing between West Bengal's Bardhaman and Dhanbad in Bihar.
The missing soldiers were travelling on a special train, ferrying 83rd Bengal battalion of BSF jawans from Murshidabad in West Bengal to Jammu. Their commander has filed a police complaint with the Government Railway Police in Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Nagar railway station, earlier known as Mughalsarai junction.
"83 BSF jawans were going to Jammu and Kashmir in a special train. Out of them, 10 jawans went missing somewhere between Dhanbad and Bardhaman without informing their commander," sub-inspector Jitendra Kumar Yadav told news agency ANI.
"We have filed an absconding report and have started investigation," Yadav added. The commander came to know about their disappearance when the soldiers were counted after the train halted at Bardhaman and Dhanbad stations.
