In the race to be the ultimate superstar Bollywood hottie Salman Khan might be pitted against none other than South Superstar Rajinikanth. While the latter is breaking all records at the cash counter with his movie Kaala, Bhai is gearing up for a record breaking outing with Race 3. It's a known fact that all Salman Khan films work like magic at BO, mostly surpassing Rs 150 crore benchmark, at the very least, with Tubelight being the only exception that has not minted money, as it was expected.

It will be pertinent to note that even if Tubelight might not have been considered a superhit, the film went on to rake in Rs 100 crore plus, anyway. But Bhai's fans are not keeping calm, especially after hearing about the feat Rajni Saar has achieved with Kaala. Salman naysayers are confident that Race 3 may not work magic at BO given its trailer has garnered mix reactions and the fact that this film is directed by Remo D'souza and not Abbas Mastan who have directed the previous outings.

Race 3 and the collection expected from it is banking heavily on it being an Eid release. Kaala, on the other hand, is not one of Rajinikanth's best openers, writes our South Film Expert. He states the fact that In the North American box office, Kaala has managed to gross more than $1 million at the box office, making it Rajinikanth's fourth movie to do so after Enthiran, Lingaa, and Kabali. Rajinikanth's last outing Kabaali had minted Rs 100 crore in a day.

Quite interestingly both the films have one feature in common-multi-star cast. While Kaala also features Huma Qureshi, Nana Patekar, Anjali Patil and Samuthirakani in pivotal roles. Salman Khan's Race 3 also stars also stars Jacqueline, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Saqib Saleem and Daisy Shah. It will be interesting to see if Bhai's film does more business than Kaala?
