That this a promotional gimmick. Directed by debutant filmmaker Dhiraj Kumar, 'Kaashi In Search Of Ganga' features Sharman Joshi who is playing the character named Kashi, who is trying to find out his missing sister Ganga. The film takes Sharman from Banares to Mumbai. The film is a romantic thriller which is based on a subject that will have the audiences hooked to it.

Since the film revolves around a person gone 'missing', Sharman decided to use a unique ploy for which he is sticking these posters around various cities to create the much-needed publicity. Remember Vidya Balan had pulled off a similar publicity stunt for her film Kahaani where she was searching for her husband Arnab Bagchi? Vidya had distributed 'missing' flyers at Mumbai's Khar station and requested janta if they could offer any leads to find out what has exactly happened to her missing husband!
