In Hollywood there had been a movie called Movie 43, that had quite a long number of celebrities in its cast like Richard Gere, Gerard Butler, Hugh Jackman, Naomi Watts, Halle Berry, Chris Pratt, Anna Faris, Dennis Quaid, Kate Winslet, Emma Stone, Jason Sudeikis, Uma Thurman etc etc. Despite such huge names, Movie 43 is considered as one of the worst movies ever made in Hollywood and rightfully so. The reason I am telling you this, is because that's the same kind of vibe I am getting from Welcome To New York, an upcoming movie that is set against the backdrop of IIFA 2017. Every time, the trailer plays in the theatres, I could always hear cringey groans around me (with yours truly also contributing for the same).
The movie stars Diljit Dosanjh and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead, with Rana Daggubati, Riteish Deshmukh, Lara Dutta, Boman Irani and Karan Johar in the supporting cast, and Sushant Singh Rajput in an extended cameo. But as we have seen in the songs and promos that came out later, Sushant is not the only cameo here. Salman Khan made a special appearance in a dream sequence featuring Sonakshi Sinha. Now we have another song that features of quite a few Bollywood celebs, and it is called Smiley Song. Cringey!
So the new songs has people making all kinds of funny faces, and joining them, for some reason, are Anil Kapoor, nephew Arjun Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Taapsee Pannu, Yami Gautam and Sonu Sood.
Check out Welcome to New York's latest song, Smiley here,
Interestingly, Smiley Song is sung by actor Boman Irani, with Dhvani Bhanushali joining him. The song is composed by Shamir Tandon, with lyrics penned by Kumaar and Varun Likhate.
Welcome To New York is directed by Chakri Toleti and and is scheduled to release on February 23.
