Varun Dhawan Copies Shah Rukh Khan, And We Must Clap For October Dude!
Varun Dhawan impressed us with this sweet gesture!
Look who is aping Shah Rukh Khan! And we are only glad that he is doing so for a noble cause! Remember how Shah Rukh Khan initiated a movement of sorts of giving credit to his heroines before his own name in his movies? And now Varun Dhwan, who has bagged positive reviews for his film October, is following in the footsteps of SRK.
It is pertinent to note that Varun's name appear in the movie October after the lead actress Banita Sandhu as indeed that of Gitanjali Rao, the actress who plays Banita’s mother in October movie. Now isn't this sensible of the Dhawan lad to express this gesture to contribute towards the woman empowerment cause.
“It is just something I felt was right. Banita plays Shiuli, the character around whom the film revolves. And, Gitanjali as her mother deserves just as much prominence. They are the stars of the film. The other stars of October are screenwriter Juhi Chaturvedi and director Shoojit Sircar. If I had my way I’d have placed my name after theirs, too, in the credits. They’re the real stars of October,” said Varun, reported Deccan Chronicle.
While we appreciate the fact that stars like Shah Rukh Khan and Varun Dhawan come forward to give the much needed boost for the woman empowerment cause, we worry if these male leads would ever fight for the equal pay and ensure that their female leads get equal based based on their expertise and experience,of course! Will that ever happen? For now, we are clapping for Varun for the sweet gesture has displayed!
