Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai today brings to us the serious issue of child trafficking. In the ashram the goons check on the kids who prepare to sleep and think about how tonight is their last night there and next day onwards they will be rich with their buyers. Later he gets a call from Bauji and leaves as there is a power cut in the ashram. Kartik (Mohsin Khan) and Naira (Shivangi Joshi) walk into the ashram in the dark and bump into each other. They are surprised to see each other and so are the kids to see them. Later Naira tells Kartik she was sleepless so she just walked in to meet the kids and Kartik tells her the same.  The kids drag Kaira away as they both almost tell they would leave for the other.

Shubham clicks a good rapport with the girl and she wants to keep in touch with him. He is too elated to consent. The goon sees Niara and Kartik there and worries of how he would accomplish their mission with the two there. Bauji asks the goon to find out why they are there and how to make them leave. Naira and Kartik enjoy a special surprise by the kids. Naira gifts Kartik the folder she had written for Kartik. They dance and make merry as Naksh (Rishi Dev) and Keerti (Mohena Singh) along with the family wishes them on video call. Kaira wish each other.

Singhanias as happy that atleast the duo are together. Kartik and Naira sleep with the kids as the goons walk in to pick up the kids. Naira and Kartik are not asleep as they are thinking about each other. They hear the goons and get up. They start searching around and Biju the goon walks up saying he was just checking the fuse and he works there. Kartik is sure he is lying but he refrains from saying anything as of now. Naira says she would wait for Kartik the next morning at the ghat.

Next morning the both of them happily jump as they realise its their wedding anniversary. They both happily remember the time they were married. Kartik goes to Naira’s room and finds a gift for him and a letter in which she writes that she hopes he would come to the ghat. Shubham shares his joy with Luv Kush. He says he got a girlfriend. Luv and Kush are sad they did not find one still. At the ghat Rajeshwari, Swarna and Dadi pray that Naira and Kartik find happiness today, Naira arrives at the ghat as Kartik still sits thinking.

The family wishes Naira and they all together wait for Kartik to arrive. As Naira stands at the ghat waiting the pandit who is the Bauji arrives. He asks about Kartik as he is worried if Kartik remains back then their work will not be done even today. Kartik walks to the ghat as the pandit begins the pooja. Suddenly Kartik sees something and stops. He runs towards something as Naira chances to see him. She wonders what he is so angry about.
