Today's episode of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai starts with Kartik(Mohsin Khan) asking Naira(Shivangi Joshi) to get out of the class without knowing that it is her. Naira though knows that it is Kartik and the past rewinds itself in front of her eyes. She slips and almost falls, but Kartik holds her. They are shocked to see each other and remember every moment spent together. The class is surprised to see the two lost in each other and suddenly they realise they are in class and Naira leaves with her bag.

Kartik too leaves, and they wonder why this happened and why they met like this. Kartik decides to return to Udaipur. There Manish informs Kirti that Naira has joined the same college in Mumbai that they took over. Kirti is elated by this news, and they hope that Kartik and Naira meet in the college. Manish sees that Swarna is ready to go to Mumbai and packing her bags. Manish is now wondering how to stop her. As she walks out, he stops her and tells her that he too has a meeting in Mumbai and so they should go together. Swarna will not listen though and walks away saying she cannot stay away from her son anymore.

Manish calls Kirti to inform her that he could not stop Swarna. Kartik's car breaks down, and he decides to take the taxi. It rains as Kartik and Naira walk on the road remembering each other and their past. The moments that tore them apart. Naira remembers falling off the ledge and breaking her leg. How Naitik and her Dadaji took her to the hospital. Kartik remembers returning home after the funeral and wondering where Naira went. He is hurt that she did not stand by him in this tough situation and just walked away when he asked her to.

Later while consoling Swarna, he remembers her telling him that she would never forgive Naira and that she would not let Naira return to the house. Kartik takes the taxi and Naira walks home. Swarna is riding to the airport when she receives a call from the airport telling her that due to some technical issues her flight stands cancelled. Swarna is furious at this and wonders if this is Manish's doing. It is revealed that Kirti has made her friend from the airport make the call to Swarna. Swarna calls back on the number and finds out that it is actually the airport and thinks that she is just being doubtful without reason.
