Today's episode of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai starts with Kartik (Mohsin Khan) meeting a little girl as he sits on the stairs. She forces Kartik to go with her as she finds him unwell. The little girl takes Kartik away to her house. The Singhanias and Goenkas come face to face at the Agarwal wedding, but they do not speak. Luv Kush wonder why they are not talking. Kartik sits with the young girl as she says that she knows that Kartik is unwell. Kartik asks her what her name is and if she was not warned by anyone at home that she should not bring in strangers.

Kartik says that his name is Kittu when the girl says that her name is Kittu too. Kittu says that she will get Kartik some tea from her Didi and that will make him feel well. There Chitti asks Naira if Kittu did not come today and Naira says that probably she is asleep. Bhabhima tries talking to Swarna asking her to forgive Naira for the sake of Kartik. Swarna lashes out at Bhabhima asking her if she could forgive Akshara in all those years and how does her sorrow be any less than the one Bhabhima bore.

Kittu walks into Naira and asks her to make tea for another Kittu in her house. Naira is taken aback by the name but then asks the little girl if someone elder is there at home and why did she get a stranger home. Naira walks to Kittu's house but by the time Kartik has already left. Naira finds a note of thanks Kartik has written on the board, and she sees the bad handwriting.

Naitik calls Naksh to inform him about Naira's admission and says that she will have to study there itself for the next two years and so might he. Naksh is devastated, and Kirti finds him like that. Kirti asks him, and he says that Naitik is being unfair and he too needs his father while Naitik is busy supporting Naira. Luv Kush hear the conversation and know that Naira is studying in Imperial college. Once home they ask Manish why Naira cannot study in Udaipur and why does it have to be the Imperial college in Mumbai. Manish is shocked at this information.

Manish is, and he thinks that his prayers have been answered. Manish asks Luv and Kush to keep this to themselves and also promises that Naira will soon be back. Swarna hears the last part of it and confronts Manish about it. Swarna asks him if he is in touch with Naira and if he is, he should tell her that this house no more needs her. She says that Kartik has forgotten her and so should he. Manish wishes Swarna would understand that Kartik can never forget Naira.

Naira gets ready for college, and everyone wishes her all the best. Kittu gives her a little frog reminding her of Kartik. Kartik tells the trustees that he cannot make the welcome address for the freshers and neither can he take the first lecture as he has to return to Udaipur. Naira is seen walking into the college for her first day.
