Today's episode of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai starts with Naitik being very upset about Kartik(Mohsin Khan) withdrawing his rights from the Akshara Dance Academy and now that Naira(Shivangi Joshi) has seen the papers, she too has done the same. Naitik says that this was his and Kirti's last attempt at resolving things, and they thought that this might bring Naira and Kartik closer but the plan backfired.

Naira reaches the college, and she enters the gates as she imagines Kartik standing right beside her. He tells her that he would be the happiest to see her fulfil all her dreams. There in Goenka house, Manish wishes he had made Naira and Kartik speak to each other once. Akhilesh says that they could not have done anything as they do not even know where Naira is.

Manish says that he hopes that going to Mumbai and handling the project would be a welcome change for Kartik. Swarna walks in and tells Manish that she cannot stay without Kartik and she is not allowing him to go anywhere away from her. Manish tells her that Kartik is his son too and he is not a selfish father. Manish puts his foot down and says that he will not listen to Swarna this time and he wants Kartik to go to Mumbai.

Kartik walks by, and Manish forces him to take the project and go. Kartik is hesitant but does take it. Later Kartik sits in his room preparing when Swarna walks in and packs his bags. She asks him to promise her that he would call her every half an hour and once the work is done he will not stay back a moment longer and would come right back.

Swarna then takes Kartik to the temple with her. There at the college, everyone is talking about the new trustees -Goenka Group. The papers for the contract flies straight to Naira with Kartik's name on it. Naira accidentally puts the page in her bag and returns the others to the authorities. Naira submits her forms and returns home. Naitik tries to make her laugh, but she does not even smile. Naitik worries if he would ever see her smiling again.

Kartik and Swarna meet Bhabhima and Devyani with Kirti in the temple. Bhabhima tries peaking to Swarna, but she refuses to hear a word and takes Kartik away. Devyani is furious that a mother's love has become dangerous for her children. Kirti prays that some miracle brings Kartik and Naira together. Manish too prays for a miracle. Naitik and Manish find Naira and Kartik sleeping on couches and not in their beds and hope that their sorrows would end soon. Later Manish chances to see a message from Kirti in Kartik's phone about Naira being in Mumbai.
