Today's episode of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai starts with Naira(Shivangi Joshi) and Kartik(Mohsin Khan) forced to enact the mango shooting scene from Sholay. Naira accuses Kartik of not saying no and vice versa. Kartik asks Niara to go ahead and do the scene so they both can leave. Naira initially tries to escape by doing the scene casually, but the students do not agree and force them to complete the scene properly.

Finally, Naira and Kartik do the scene and get very close together. They are reminded of all their moments together. Kunal is furious as he decides to teach Naira a lesson. Kunal wants to get into the office as he says he needs some prints. The dean speaks to Mrs Goenka again as she is arriving in Mumbai. The dean says that he has arranged for a car to pick her up. She is arriving at the college directly. Kartik and Naira look at each other as they enter for the next part of the party.

Tanvi compliments Naira for looking very beautiful. Kirti notices that Dadji is feeling bored and useless. She decides to make him feel better as she understands that he has been working all his life and it is difficult for him to handle this retired life. Kirti asks Dadji to help her in the stock keeping, and he excitedly gets involved in it. Later he urges Kirti to let him know of any help she requires as he had a wonderful day spent working finally.

Naira is welcomed on stage for the Miss Fresher competition, and she walks up but stumbles to fall. Kartik almost leaps to her help but refrains as she manages herself. Naira and some other girls are supposed to answer some questions. Mrs Goenka is welcomed by the school committee outside. As Naira steps up to answer her questions, Kunal throws out pamphlets which have her picture on it with "I am married" printed on it.

The entire college looks on at Naira as Kartik is furious at having to see Naira stand in such a tight spot. Naira handles the situation with grace though and says that she never knew that marriage was a criterion to enter college. She says that it should not matter to anyone if her marriage is there or not. She says that if anyone wanted to know more, they should have just asked her directly and she would have answered.

Kartik feels hurt that Naira thinks the marriage is over and she is no more bothered about anything that they had together. Naira walks away as she cries alone. Kartik too stands at a distance of some pillars. Tanvi talks to Naira asking her about her marriage. Naira says that she does not want to speak about it. Kartik is more hurt as he wonders why she avoids even talking about him when she could declare about it on stage.
