Initially reports suggested that the makers of Star Plus' Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, starring Karan Patel and Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya, have decided to pull the plug and were gearing up for a spin-off. Titled Yeh Hai Chahatein, the show was said to have been inspired by the Hollywood film The Sound of Music. Reportedly, the makers were auditioning for the upcoming show. Going by the reports, the show was to go on floors in March and be launched by June-July. However, earlier this month, we heard that the the spin-off has been delayed. Yes, you read that right! According to a report in BollywoodLife, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein's spin-off Yeh Hai Chahatein has not just been delayed but scrapped off. Confirming the news, the entertainment website quoted a source close to the development as saying, "Contrary to reports, the show has not been put on the backburner. It has been altogether canceled by the network and the production house."

Speaking of Yeh Hai Chahatein, the maker, were audintioning for the spin off had cast actress Akanksha Singh to play the female lead. The portal further reported that Balaji Telefilms is planning to rather bring a new show, which will not be a spin-off but will replace their ongoing show Yeh Hai Mohabbatein. The source further added, "The new series is currently at the nascent stage. It will be a love drama."

Amidst the rumours of Yeh Hai Mohabbatein going off air, the show's lead pair Divyanka Tripathi and Karan Patel have dismissed the rumours. Recently, Karan told us, "We too have been hearing these rumors on and off about the show shutting down. But we haven't been informed about any such development yet and don't know when it will go off-air." Stay tuned!
