National Geographic has time and again given us beautiful showcase into life on Earth and beyond. It has given more than a sneak peak into different forms in nature through different series. And now, they have another brilliant programme called One Strange Rock, which will premiere on March 26, 9 pm! Viewers are going to witness the strange yet astonishing life forms on the earth, from a perspective of those who have actually left it. this peculiar creation will see astronauts telling us stories about evolution, dig deeper into outer space, help us understand the planet and appreciate it even better. The show will be hosted by Hollywood actor Will Smith and is a creation of acclaimed filmmaker Darren Aronofsky. It is executive produced by Jane Root and her production company Nutopia.

It is going to be a 10 part series giving you visuals of the beautiful planet like never before. It has been filmed for 100 weeks in 45 countries spanning six continents, covering from the depths inside the earth to outer space on the International Space Station (ISS). So you know you are going to have stunning visual delights to fuel your interest. ‘The series will be Cosmos meets Planet Earth meets Gravity – on steroids,’ said Courtney Monroe, CEO, National Geographic Global networks. The life that we know on earth will be shown to us from what it looks like from outer space. Cameras will also look at Earth from 250 miles above and the earth which looks like a tiny marble from space is so much more!

Astronauts will share with their personal insights about the extraordinary evolution across the globe. It will go up, close and personal to life from oxygen producing bacteria to blue whales, new born baby’s first breath to ancient mummies and other extreme locations and human stories. So you know the scale that’s going to be covered! Each of the episode will have a theme relating to science and discovery. “The strangest place in the whole universe might just be right here,” says Will Smith in the trailer and we that’s the only intriguing thought it leaves you with.
