Barely a few weeks after his Colors show Khoob Ladi Mardaani… Jhansi Ki Rani went off air, reports of Vikkas Manaktala having bagged the role of Lord Shiva in Star Plus’ next mythological series Namah, started doing the rounds. Confirming the reports, Vikas revealed about prepping up for the role and said, “I am a Shiva believer and connect with him on several levels. Shiva is known to be calm despite the chaos around him. To get that serene look on screen isn’t easy. Shooting for Namah began a few weeks back and the show is all set to go on air in the month of September. It will reportedly replace the channel’s on-going fantasy thriller Divya-Drishti.

He also went on to disclose to Bombay Times, that this was the fifth time that he was offered to play Lord Shiva and that with things falling into place on their own, he came on board. “This time around, everything fell into place and here I am, playing a character, which is nothing short of a dream role. Guess what? I was offered the same role in another show after I signed 'Namah'. So, I feel that the time is right for me to play the part and I am mentally and physically prepared for it,” revealed Vikkas.

Namah is touted to be Star Plus’ next magnum opus and will be produced by Shoonya Square Productions. The storyline of the show will centre on the bond between Lords Shiva and Vishnu and will be a bi-weekly weekender show. Apart from Vikkas, actors Yukti Kapoor, Aman Verma, Chhavi Pandey, Savi Thakur and Sara Khan (negative) among a few names have been locked in for the show.
