Star Plus’ Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2 boasts of an ensemble star cast with some terrific performers. And then add to the cast, the mix of actors like Hina Khan, Erica Fernandes and Parth Samthaan, who have only repeatedly proven themselves as good actors, that’s what makes an epic show, that Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2 has turned out to be. Well, they are Mohini Basu and Anupam, played by actors Shubhaavi Chouksey and Sahil Anand respectively. While the former’s is a negative role, Sahil plays a positive role in the show. However, what’s common between the duo is that they do not relate to the on-screen characters at all.

When asked Shubhavi, who plays the evil saas, she reveals, “I do not relate to Mohini Basu at all. The number one reason for that is that I hate anybody who looks down upon people. Secondly, I don't think you should make friends or associate with people, according to their money or the status that they have. The third thing is that she dotes more than required on her son and I don't pamper mine so much. For me, the most important person in my life is myself, then my mom, then my brother, then my husband and then my child and then friends. Mohini is completely madly in love with Anurag. She continues, “The biggest difference between Mohini Basu and Shubhaavi is that in real life I wear shorts, T-shirts and watches, but I never wear jewellery. I only wear a wedding ring which my husband has gifted me.”

Says Sahil, “I don't relate to my character because in real life I am very different.  I am very fun loving and a chilled out guy. I don't care that much. Initially, how Anupam was, that is how I am. But now, he's someone who is very responsible, who is always there and I am a little careless.”

However, he loves the part that he is playing. He reveals, “I took up the character of Anupam Sengupta because I had seen him in Kasautii Zindagii Kay and I knew that it was really an important character. Also, I seriously wanted to work with Ekta Kapoor because I have worked with most of the production houses but never got a chance to work with Balaji Pictures. Well, nevertheless, despite their real-life characters not sharing any characteristics at all with their real-life personas, these actors we’ll say, are doing a very fine job playing them. Don’t you agree?
