Netflix's The Perfect Couple may not be Ishaan Khatter's first tryst with Hollywood, but it is certainly a legit push in his cinematic journey towards the West. Earlier, Shahid Kapoor's younger brother had a minuscule appearance in Don't Look Up, Adam McKay's 2021 satirical comedy that also starred Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Cate Blanchett and Meryl Streep. While we didn't get to see him share the screen with these stalwarts, we will certainly see him rub shoulders with Nicole Kidman, Liev Schreiber, Dakota Fanning and Isabelle Adjani in The Perfect Couple'The Perfect Couple' Trailer: Ishaan Khatter Looks Irresistibly Hot in Netflix's Murder Mystery Starring Nicole Kidman and Liev Schreiber.

The Perfect Couple is a six-episode mini-series directed by Susanne Bier that will premiere on Netflix on September 5. The show revolves around a destination wedding near an idyllic lake at Nantucket that suffers a major roadblock when the body of one of the attendees is discovered near the lake, and everyone at the wedding becomes a suspect. The murder mystery series is based on a best-selling novel by the same name, written by Elin Hilderbrand.

The trailer of The Perfect Couple was revealed on September 3. If you are watching it for Ishaan Khatter, he has only two proper glimpses with no dialogues, but his shirtless bathing glimpse can grab the eye-balls of his female fans.

Who is Ishaan Khatter Playing in 'The Perfect Couple'?

While Ishaan Khatter may have no lines in the trailer, he has a crucial role in the series if The Perfect Couple is sticking closely to the novel. As per the cast list, he is playing Shooter Dival, the best friend of the groom Benji Winbury, played by Billy Howle. Nicole Kidman and Liev Schrieber play Benji's snobby, rich parents who have a cold marriage but put up a display of a perfectly happy couple for others. ‘The Perfect Couple’ OTT Release Date: When & Where To Watch Nicole Kidman-Ishaan Khatter’s Murder Mystery Online.

SPOILERS AHEAD... In the novel, Shooter is a model and a flirt who comes to the wedding not to support his best friend but rather to try to work around his dark secret. He doesn't appear to be Indian in the novel, going by the surname 'Uxley'. When Merritt, the best friend of the bride, Celeste (name changed to Amelia Sacks in the series, played by Ewe Henson), is found dead in the lake, Shooter is also labelled as one of the suspects by the investigating police chief Ed Kapenash (name changed to Dan Carter in the series, played by Michael Beach).

It doesn't help that Shooter was behaving in a very suspicious manner, first disappearing from the murder scene before mysteriously appearing again, and he doesn't give convincing answers to his behaviour. It turns out that Shooter's secret has nothing to do with the murder. He is actually in love with the bride who also has feelings for him, and had planned to elope with her. Which, of course, doesn't go as planned, thus explaining his disappearance and reappearance from the venue while offering shady answers.

As to who was the real murderer, we suggest you watch the series when The Perfect Couple drops on Netflix on September 5. Or, if you are a bookworm, read the novel first and then watch the series.
