When eager fans tried to tune into Amitabh Bachchan's popular reality show Kaun Banega Crorepati, via their Tata Sky subscription tonight, all they could see was a blank screen on their television sets. The popular service provider was apparently running a categorical notice stating that Sony Channels and TV Today programmes, including some others, will not be available after a month's time. But suddenly these much-followed channels were not available to watch for Tata Sky subscribers, complain netizens.
It is widely reported that Tata Sky had issued this notice through other media outlets as well as through some newspapers where it was categorically stated that the users will not be able to enjoy the broadcast of over 100 channels from September 23, 2018. The list had included Sony and TV Today. KBC fans took to Twitter to express their anger and frustration over the issue.
Dear @TataSky why this issue? Have been trying to give a missed call on this number for the last one hour but it says network busy. Missed #KBC Same issue while trying to watch @aajtak pic.twitter.com/xR2ZrUh1XD

Very unprofessional from Tata sky for stopping Sony channel at last minute before KBC show and not activating also! It is really not worth keeping a Tata sky connection!

According to reports, Tata Sky had maintained in their public statement that their services will be continued without levying extra charges. The viewers were asked to give a missed call on a certain number post which they can make their choices as far as their channel cart is concerned, reports suggest.
It would be pertinent to note that Tata Sky has tie-ups with a range of TV channels. But complains kept trickling in on social media platforms citing that instead of the broadcast of the programmes from the listed channels, the viewers would get a message on their TV screens about the service and its availability through a missed call. But ultimately this service was never made available to viewers.
