Television actress Disha Vakani, who became a household name with the portrayal of her character of Daya Ben in the popular comedy show 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah', has been missing from the screens for a long time as she went on maternity leave in 2017 and her impending return seems to be ‘the longest running debatable’ in tinsel town. Various reports cited different reasons behind Disha not returning to the show. Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah Producer Asit Modi on Disha Vakani’s Exit From The Show – ‘No Actor Is Bigger Than The Show’
Initial reports suggested that Disha had hiked her fees to mark her comeback in the show. Apparently, she was charging Rs 1.5 lakh per episode and had also put forth a condition that she will only work for 15 days in the 11 am to 6 pm shift. Later, it was also reported that Disha's husband is not too keen on her returning to the show as he feels their baby is still very young and needs Disha around her all the time and so, it won't be advisable for her to start shooting when she's at such a tender age.
Amidst all this, the latest report states that Disha has been given a 30-day ultimatum by the producer of the show Asit Kumarr Modi. Yes, you read that right. According to a report in Spotboye, Disha has been given a 30-day notice period to return to the show and if she doesn't return within the given time, she will be replaced with another actress as the makers are now not willing to hold the crew any longer without her. A source close to the development was quoted in the report as saying, "Bas, ab ho gaya. Modi waited ethically how much he and his cast-crew could. Now, Modi says he will just give a concession period of a month, starting today. There has been absolutely no contact between the two parties ever since Dayaben's last day at the shoot. Team Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has no problems if she wants to look after her baby but some of her demands that they would imply if she was to return, were just not easy to accept when her husband last had a word with us."
