SAB TV’s light-hearted comedy show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah definitely tickles your funny bones on-screen, but off lately, the show has been in the news for all the bad and sad news of how the show’s favourite characters essayed by actress Disha Vakani Aka Dayaben will not be returning and would be replaced. For those uninitiated, Disha went on her maternity leave back in October 2017, gave birth to a baby girl in November the same year. Then came reports of how Dish laid down conditions for her return- her pay be increased from Rs 1.25 lakhs to 1.50, her working hours would be strictly from 11 am to 6 pm and that she would only allot 15 days every month for shooting. However, the team did convince the lady to shoot some close up portions and stills that are being used by the makers in the episodes. There was also incessant buzz that it was Disha’s husband Mayur who was not wanting his wife to return to work. Various reports have claimed that Mayur would pick up Disha’s calls and would co-ordinate himself and that he also believed that producer Asit Modi owed his wife some money, which led to a huge fall out between the two. Here's When Disha Vakani Might Return As Daya Ben in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah

And just when we all were beginning to think that we may never see Diasha as Daya ever again, here’s what Asit Modi has to say. In a chat with Bombay Times, the producer says, “Disha has not been working with us for over a year now. It’s natural for any mother to want to spend time with her child, but now that her daughter is a year old, we are hoping that Disha will return to the show.”

He also made sure to set certain facts straight, “While my viewers are questioning the long absence of Dayaben, the ratings have not been affected. We have given her enough time to decide, too. Contrary to reports, there are no money issues, because my team is in touch with her and any matter can be solved, amicably.” Disha Vakanis’s Husband Is Not Happy About Her Decision to Return to Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah?

Giving us all a glimmer of hope that Disha may return to the show, now that her daughter is one year old, he states, “I am still waiting for her to return, but if she does not convey her decision in some time, I will have to replace her. I believe that no actor is bigger than the show and everyone has to work professionally towards making it a success.”

Well, this week’s ratings of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah did drop down a little bit. Also, Disha Vakani herself is yet to address any rumours or give any statements, with regards to the entire fiasco.
