While there is no confirmation on the same, it is none other than actor Dilip Joshi who has given fans and ardent viewers the hope. For those who are unaware, there have been reports that Disha will be replaced by Vibhuti Sharma. When asked about the same, Dilip revealed, “I don’t know, never say never. Disha might return as Dayaben. I’m hoping and keeping my fingers crossed. But if someone from our family goes, life goes on. You have to adjust. There’s no option.” However, he did affirm that Disha was the best fit for Dayaben and said, “I think she owns this character. Well, that’s not much of an assurance, but something is better than nothing. The last we heard of on the front of Disha returning to the show was that the makers were in no hurry for the casting of Dayaben as they wanted someone who fit the role perfectly. Soon followed the news that Disha’s replacement was found in actress Vibhuti Sharma, who looked the closest to Disha during look tests.

The show recently achieved the milestone of completing 11 successful years on television. Not only is this a one of a kind achievement for any television show, but also the fact that it manages to make it to the Top 10 shows on the BARC list, speaks volumes in itself.

Talking highly about the show that made him a household name, the actor shares, “God has been really kind. We haven’t got tired yet. Personally, I am not worn out playing this character. It still feels fresh, and there’s a lot to do with it. So, I never felt like quitting. There never has been mental fatigue. When quizzed on Jethalal’s fixation with Babitaji, his neighbour, Dilip states that there is no vulgarity involved. “I have always maintained from day one that there is no vulgarity involved in Babita-Jethalal’s relationship. There’s innocence in it. I don’t think I have crossed the line.”

Well, now all we have to do is await a concrete answer on who will play Dayaben and when will she enter the show, is for the makers, Disha Vakani or the new actress essaying the role to reveal.
